In my previous post, I shared my excitement about a potential solution for Braves fans like myself: FanDuel Sports Network. They've announced they'll be directly broadcasting Braves games (and 8 other teams) without local blackouts, a dream come true for those of us in the Braves' TV territory. After a few days of testing, I'm ready to share my initial assessment.
Let's start with app performance. I've been using the FanDuel Sports Network app on my Google TV devices, and I'm thoroughly impressed. The picture quality is crystal clear, and I haven't experienced any buffering whatsoever. Of course, I have a very stable network, but the app is clearly well-optimized for live sports streaming. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate and find the games. My son, who's also been testing it on his Apple TV, agrees -- the app is incredibly stable, and he's had similar results to my own.
As for Braves game access, I'm happy to report that I've been able to watch every game without any local blackouts. The convenience of having direct access to the games through the app is fantastic. And the price? At $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year, it's a steal compared to what I would have paid for MLB.TV. My son, who was frustrated that he had to pay a higher price for Fubo primarily to watch the Braves, is now definitely making the move to drop Fubo. The savings will allow him to take his family out for a nice dinner each month, a trade-off he's more than happy to make for the few games he might miss.
Overall, my initial assessment of FanDuel Sports Network is extremely positive. For Braves fans, this is a potential game-changer. The app performs flawlessly on both Google TV and Apple TV, the games are readily available, and the price is right. I'd highly recommend it to any cord-cutter looking for a reliable way to watch their local team. I plan to continue using the service for the rest of my trial, and likely beyond.
Based on my initial experience, FanDuel Sports Network appears to be a solid option for Braves fans. I'm optimistic that this will be my go-to solution for the rest of the season. My Streaming Life has taken another step forward.
