It's a new year, and that means it's time for everyone to make some resolutions. But instead of focusing on ourselves this year, let's give some much-needed advice to our beloved (and sometimes frustrating) streaming services. Here are 10 resolutions they should really consider if they want to keep us cord cutters happy in 2026:
- "We will stop adding new channels/tiers and raising prices every other month." Seriously, we left cable to get AWAY from this madness.
- "We will stop removing shows and movies without warning." Don't make us play content roulette!
- "We will make our interfaces less cluttered and easier to navigate." We just want to watch something, not get lost in a maze of menus.
- "We will stop auto-playing trailers and previews at maximum volume." Our hearts (and ears) can't take it anymore.
- "We will offer a 'truly unlimited' plan with no restrictions on simultaneous streams." Let the binge-watching commence!
- "We will stop making original shows and movies that are just pale imitations of cable TV." We're looking for something new and exciting, not the same old tired formulas.
- "We will actually crack down on password sharing... but only for those people who are REALLY abusing it." Sharing with your grandma is fine; sharing with your entire dorm floor is not.
- "We will offer a la carte channels so you can pay only for what you want." This is the dream, people. Make it happen.
- "We will finally, truly invest in a decent search function." We shouldn't need a PhD in library science to find a movie.
- "In 2026, come up with a 10th resolution." You have a lot to work on.
So there you have it, streaming services. Ten resolutions to make 2026 the best year yet for cord cutters. We're not asking for much, just a little sanity and a lot more value for our hard-earned cash. My Streaming Life depends on it!
